Executive Director
Kathy M. Norcott presently serves as the Executive Director of Piedmont Health Services and Sickle Cell Agency. While she has served in this role for only 14 months, she has been employed with the agency for 41 years. Ms. Norcott earned her undergraduate degree in Managerial Psychology from High Point College (now High Point University) and her graduate degrees in Non-Profit Management and Public Administration from Capella University.

Since her tenure with PHSSCA, Ms. Norcott began a support group for adolescents with sickle cell disease in the late 1980’s. She felt it important to educate adolescents about their condition and how important it is for them to control their condition not let their condition control them. Her approach to educating adolescents provides adolescent the hope and will to prepare their lives as their peers. Additionally, she is responsible for overseeing a staff of 28 individuals who provide services to more than 1500 people living with sickle cell disease in a seven-county area of North Carolina. PHSSCA also has an HIV prevention program and a Baby Love Plus program that provides case management support services to new mothers and their children until the baby is two years old.

Her compassion and dedication to people living with sickle cell disease have been the driving forces in her searching for ways to improve their lives.
