Yvonne M. Carroll, RN, JD is the Director of Patient Services in the Department of Hematology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Yvonne graduated with a Bachelors of Nursing Degree from the University of Tennessee and a Law degree from the University of Cincinnati. She joined SJCRH in 1999 in the Department of Hematology and served in several positions in the department culminating in her appointment as the Director of Patient Services.   Yvonne serves as a member of the Governor’s Genetic Advisory Committee which directs state policy on newborn screening in the State of TN, and is active in the sickle cell community.  She serves as president of the International Association of Sickle Cell Nurses and Professional Associates (IASCNAPA), and throughout the years, Yvonne has been a Principal Investigator and Program Manager on numerous sickle cell grants and has spoken in diverse venues around the country to raise awareness about sickle cell disease.   Yvonne is a military veteran and served as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) in the US Navy.  She has been married for 34 years and has two children.  She is passionate about her commitment to sickle cell disease and continues to develop and participate in projects to further research and improve care for people with the disease.
